For the new J D Wetherspoon project in Farnborough, the designer at RJD incorporated several features linking, naturally, to the long history of aviation in the area. One such feature was this 50mm solid oak top measuring 1980 x 1220, with a routed map of the British Isles. This was hand-finished with a patina to highlight the coastline, and with a darker ?land-mass? to contrast with the sea. It was then fitted to a standard Wanstead table base to create this striking feature piece.
